About Me

I'm a college English teacher, writer and tutor who loves literature and is passionate about making the world a better place.

I've been teaching English composition and literature for 20+ years. In addition to Santa Barbara City College, I have also taught in The Writing Program at UCSB and at Ventura College. Prior to teaching, I worked as a journalist for the Los Angeles Times. I have a master’s degree in English literature and a bachelor’s degree in journalism. I live in Santa Barbara, CA.

As a private tutor, I offer students one-on-one help with academic writing, college entrance essays and personal insight questions required by the UC system.
